Hey Michele,
(I tried sending this to your mknaus@pdx.edu e-amil but it bounced back), I'm not sure if you'll see this first or it will automatically post? Anyway...

Rodrigo here, formerly from InGoodTaste. How's it going? Well I hope. I was wonerding if I could chat with you about something. It looks like even after going to baking school (which I would do again), a career in food is not for me; at least not at this point. Too much standing, extremely chapped hands from constant washing, no job security/benefits, etc. etc., anyway I've left IGT and I'm working at Portland Community College and liking it.

I am now considering getting a masters in Public adminstration from PSU. Except for IGT, I've always worked in non-profit organizations (I sleep better at night that way) and I am wondering if for the MPA I could specialize in one of two ways: Either in education, or food. And this is were you come in. Do you think an MPA could somehow work with food policy (though it seems like there is as yet no such a thing). Working in an agricultural policy place? Working with school food programs? Anything were some governmental agency (more likely state, city or county) that has an admistrative structure that also works with food? Am I crazy? I know you're doing your PhD in sustainability so I'm hoping you might be able to suggest something or even just to tell me I'm not crazy?

Anyway, Wadda' think?

When you can, no rush
